3 Months Old!!

This was Walker one morning before we got him up. He had just been smiling about 5 seconds before. Then we got the camera out and this is the look he gave us. Walker is very good at his "pouty" face! We think it's pretty cute now...

My sweet baby is 3 months old!

Posted by PicasaNotice the two bandaids on his legs...he had just gotten two shots earlier that morning. It was so sad! :( This round of shots was definitely worse than the last round.
Walker didn't have to have a complete check-up this week but we did go for his 3 month shots. We had the nurse weigh him while we were there and he now weighs 11 lbs 5 oz. He's almost doubled his birth weight!
It seems that in the past month he has changed so much. He has developed quite a personality and is defintely learning how to work the "system" known as mom and dad. He's getting quite good at happy and sad faces and will go from one to the other in a matter of seconds. In the past month Walker has started sleeping through the night!! WOOHOO! Mom and dad are very excited about this accomplishment...he goes to bed about 7:00, we feed him at 9:00 then he usually sleeps until 5:30-6:00. It's amazing how much better I (mommy) feel these days. When he was first born everyone said "just make it to three months and it will get so much easier"...and that is SO true! It seems like now that he's hit the 3 month mark life is slowly taking on a routine and we're all adjusting to our new family life. I'll admit...the first couple (6-7) weeks are pretty rough. But we now feel like we're all getting used to each other.
Walker's likes include: baths, smiling ,standing, his bouncy seat, his mobile, "talking", looking around at everything, riding in the car, & listening to music. His dislikes include: naps, loud noises, tummy time & shots!! He's a pretty easy-going little boy. I feel like he's changing more and more every day. He's noticing everything around him which makes it more challening getting him to eat because he wants to look around. He's now able to really focus on objects near and far away and will turn in response to a voice...especially mommy and daddy's. He will smile at certain toys and will bat at them with his hand. He LOVES to stand on his feet and can stand up very well just holding on to mommy's hands. He gets so excited and will bend his knees and bounce around while doing this. We're amazed at how strong his legs seem. He can lift his head up and look around while on his belly but he still hates tummy time. Tummy time is mainly spent laying on daddy because he makes it so much more fun. Walker is also trying to lift himself up off his belly using his hands and he can now hold on to a rattle and wave it around. I say he can do all these things but he's pretty picky about when he chooses to show off his skills. If he's not in the mood to do something, he's not doing it! He's quite stubborn that way! :) But considering his mommy & daddy that's really not a big surprise! He's becoming such a little boy and we can't wait to see what he learns next. I'm so thankful God chose me to be his mommy...I love him so much and can't imagine life without him!

  1. Well, that pout certainly reminds me of a family member...whose name I will not mention. SHE still has that little pouty look at times (not Janna).

You might want to send that pouting picture to Walker's aunt. You know; the one that has two children: a boy and a girl. Ha!

    Janna, you're a great mommy and Jon you're a great daddy! :)

    Love you guys.
