Smiling...

Walker is such a happy baby! These pictures were taken at his first solo sleepover at Sugar & Poppy's house (Janna's parents). They kept him overnight when he was 8 weeks old so mommy & daddy could have a night to themselves. We slept...but I think Walker had all sorts of fun! :)

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

We celebrated daddy's birthday on June 7th! We love him SO much and he is such a good daddy. He plays with Walker, feeds him, changes diapers...we don't know what we'd do without him! :) Walker is so lucky to have such a wonderful daddy who loves him so much and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.

2 Months Old (Just a week late!)

Walker is getting SO big...this picture was taken right before a feeding so I couldn't get him to quit chewing on his hands! :) In another month he'll be as big as Jimbo the Giraffe. His 2 month stats: 9 lbs. 12 oz. 21" long. The pediatrician said he was perfect...but we already knew that! :) We started his vaccine schedule at his 2 month appointment. We are doing an alternative vaccine schedule so he only had to get 2 vaccines, the Rotavirus and DTaP. He did great! Daddy held him while he got the shots and he screamed for about 10 seconds and fell asleep. He also got his first band-aid after the shots. Walker has started holding his head up more and more and his legs are getting much stronger. He loves to lay on his back and kick his legs and wave his arms around. He's also becoming more tolerable of tummy time...but only for short periods during the day! We also had another big milestone this month...his first smile! He smiled for daddy first but mommy caught one the next day. He now smiles more and more often...it's the sweetest thing. He's also doing great with his feeding and sleeping schedule. He goes to sleep at 7:00 and sleeps until anywhere between 2-3:30 when he wakes up for a feeding then he's back in bed until 6-7. Mommy & Daddy are loving this new schedule. Naps in his crib during the day are still a struggle from time to time but they are slowly getting better. Walker is also becoming so much more curious...he loves to look around the room and would rather look at everything else but mommy & daddy these days! I sometimes have to chase his mouth with the bottle during feedings because he's so interested in everything around him! I can't wait to see what he learns to do next! He's a precious little boy and we're so thankful for each day with him.

**We'd like everyone to scroll down to take another look at the 1 month post. Just look at how he's changed in a month!

8 Weeks Old

Walker at 8 weeks. The first rattle he holds on to is a football...his daddy was so proud!

He was supposed to be having awake time on his tummy.

Talking to mommy!

He sits with his ankles crossed all the time

Relaxing on mommy & daddy's bed after a bath.

I know, I know...it's been awhile! But life with an 8 week old is extremely busy and tiring! :) But WONDERFUL! We have spent the past 8 weeks getting to know and love on Walker. I can't believe how much he's changed in the past 8 weeks. When I look at him now he looks more like a little boy instead of the tiny baby he was when we brought him home. He is becoming so much more alert these days. Since my last post we had a big milestone...our first smile. We don't see the smile all the time yet but he has definitely smiled several different times. The first real big smile was for daddy! :) It took him a little longer to smile for mommy...but he finally did! He is also getting much stronger and is holding his head up better. We try to practice holding it up on his belly but he still hates tummy time. He is so curious and likes to look around so he is not thrilled with facing the ground. Whenever I put him on his belly he either goes to sleep or will bury his nose in the ground. He's quite stubborn..I wonder who he got that from?! He is now able to grab a rattle if Mommy puts it in his hand and will actually hold on to it for a little while. He can also bring his hands together and he keeps them folded together on his belly when he's eating...it's pretty cute! :) As I said before, he's very curious and loves to look around and check out his surroundings. He's also started to "talk" to us...making lost of goo's, coo's and gaa's at us all the time. He even made a sound for daddy the other night that sounded like "hey!" So as you can tell he's developing quite a little personality. We can't wait to see what he does next.

In other big news, since our last post he also started sleeping in his nursery by himself. We first moved his bassinett into his nursery and he slept in it for a few weeks. But last night he slept in his crib. He did great but he did wake up bored about 4:30, ready to play. That was not so fun! However, he has gotten into a pretty good routine. He eats every 3 hours during the day starting at 6 a.m. His bedtime is 7:30 and he gets up again to eat at 9 then is back down until between 2 and 2:30 a.m. Then back up again at 6 a.m.

We've also started introducing a little formula in his bottle with breastmilk and it's been a little tricky trying to find one that agrees with his belly. This child definitely has his daddy's sensitive stomach! However, we're hoping to find one that he can tolerate. We go back to the doctor on Tuesday for his 2 month check-up. We're also scheduled to get his first round of shots. We are doing an alternative vaccine schedule so, thankfully, he only has to get two shots at this visit. I already dread it!! :( Be sure to check back for his 2 month picture next week...if mommy can remember!!
