6 Months Old

6 month stats: 16 lbs, 3 oz. & 25 1/2 inches tall
It's hard to believe that my sweet baby is now 6 months old. Well actually, since I'm really late with this post he'll be 7 months this week! Life has been so busy lately that we've neglected our blog...my apologies. But hopefully the amount of pictures I'm posting will make up for it. Walker is developing quite a little personality these days...as well as a little temper! He is still such a laidback little boy and is quite content to play on his own or just hang out. But he is also more than happy to let you know if he's ready to do something else or is hungry or tired. And he's "talking" a LOT these days. He's at the age now where I hear him talking to himself in his crib in the morning and it just makes me smile. He sleeps through the night most of the time now and is taking (on a good day) 2 naps of 1.5-2 hours each. He is a good eater and we're still doing 4-5 feedings a day of 6 oz. each and food 3 times a day. He likes carrots, squash (of any kind), sweet potatoes, green beans, sweet peas, apples, bananas, avocado and rice & oat cereal. We're doing more formula than breastmilk now and he's tolerating it well. We're not nursing as much as mommy would like due to an allergic reaction that mommy had with some meds. but I'm pleased to have at least nursed for 6 months so I'm trying not to be too sad about it. Walker can now roll any way he pleases and he does so throughout the night. It won't be long before we'll be babyproofing the house. He sleeps on his tummy more than his back and seems quite comfy. He looks like such a little boy curled up on his tummy or side and he is taking up more and more room in his crib these days! :( He was in the 25% for height and weight at his last doctor's appointment. You'd never have guessed that he was such a small little guy when he was born.
He loves to play with anything he can get his hands on and we have to really watch what is in his reach these days. He's about too big for his bouncy seat and when we put him in it, he rips the toys off the velcro strap now so bouncy seat time doesn't last too long. He can also grab the sides of the bar and pull himself up so most of the time we have to put him in the seat without the toy bar. He is curious about everything and loves to be outside! Just in the last week he's started sitting up on his own for brief periods of time before toppling over. I feel sure it won't be long before we're officially an independent sitter! We're working on his waving and he seems like he's slowly attempting to. He'll raise his hand up and try to move it around...it's the cutest thing. He also started Mother's Day Out this month and seems to really like it. He likes his teacher and always seems happy when Sugar picks him up everyday so that makes for a happy mommy. He seems to change before our eyes from day to day and is slowly losing the baby look and looking more like a little boy. It's so fascinating to see him discover new things and learn to do new "tricks."

Mother's Day Out

Posted by PicasaWalker & his teacher, Ms. Michelle
He loves Mother's Day Out at our church and goes 3 days a week from 9-3. He still stays with Sugar (Janna's mom) on M & F but I think he really likes playing with his friends at school. They play outside a lot and even do art projects.

Look What I Can Do...

I can now put my toes in my mouth!
