11 Months Old

This picture is not very good but it's the only one I got where he was sitting up enough to see how much he's grown!

He's all smiles here... But not so much here...we don't like to sit still at all!

It is so hard to believe I have an 11 month old (well, actually, a soon to be 1 year old at this point in the month!). I think it actually hit me that my baby was getting to be 'not-a-baby' when I was in The Children's Place looking for an 18 month pair of shorts and the lady told me I was looking in the wrong area. She then pointed me to the back of the store where the TODDLER clothes are kept! How is this possible? Tear, Sniff! I'm just now getting used to having a baby and now I'm about to have a toddler. Or I think the new term is 'pre-toddler.' This year has flown by. People tell you that you blink and they're another year older and I now understand what they mean. I guess you just have to experience it to really understand how fast they grow. But, oh, what a fun year it's been. Anyway, on to the fun stuff about Walker (which is why you are reading anyway)...

My child is now in the almost pre-toddler stage and we are having so much fun! He's walking and crawling and standing and falling on and around everything! We've even taken our first few steps on our own this past week. He'll walk for a few steps at a time towards something before he collapses. He's still not quite sure about walking and he usually acts totally exhausted after we've made him walk a few steps. He's also trying to learn how to get to a standing position from sitting completely on his own and it's really quite hilarious! Each day he gets a little braver so I feel certain our days of just cruising are numbered. And might I add that this child can MOVE! He's fast...especially when he's doing something he's not supposed to be doing.

As far as the basic stuff goes...he's eating and sleeping pretty much like he was last month. We have 4 feedings during the day. We've dropped his mid-morning feeding to only 4 oz. in hopes of weaning him from that once he's a year old. He eats meals when we do (well dinner is served a little earlier at about 5:00) and this boy can now put away some food. We've really had to up his food intake in the past month and he's eating more "people" food now. We just had meatloaf the other night and he gobbled up his portion. After that he then had macaroni and cheese, green beans and yogurt. We've also started introducing whole milk in hopes of transitioning off formula at the 1 year mark.

Walker has the funniest personality and boy does he have a personality. He laughs a lot and he now whines quite a bit when he doesn't get his way. Which is often since he's into everything. Oh, and he doesn't sit still. He's constantly on the move! He's recently started laying his head on the ground and letting out a whine/cry when he doesn't get his way or his mad. I tend to overlook this because he's so cute but it might get old in another few months! :) I was thinking the other day of what his personality is like. He's really a very laid back baby (always has been) but he's constantly on the move and very curious. He watches everything. He's also quite stubborn and tough. He'll fall and hit his head and laugh about it. I can't wait to see his personality develop even more as he grows.
