37 Weeks and counting...

All of our stuff packed and ready to take to the hospital!! And yes that is a laundry basket full of stuff...we plan on moving in for a few days!! :)

Pictures of the finished nursery.
We will offically be 38 weeks tomorrow. I went back to the doctor on Wednesday and I had not dilated at all. He said I may be thinning just a little but there is definitely not much going on! :) SO, I feel like we're in for a long couple of weeks but I could be wrong! We talked with our doctor on Wednesday about induction (just so we're prepared) but he seemed to think we were a few weeks away from even considering that. I'm hopeful that Walker will decide to come on his own because the induction does not sound like fun!
Tomorrow starts my last week of school before maternity leave so I'm very excited about that. We have a field day on Friday so I'm kind of hoping that will send me into labor! :) And there is a full moon this Monday night/Tuesday morning (tomorrow) but my doctor didn't seem to think that would matter...we'll see!! I sound like I'm eager for him to be here but I really am ok if he waits another week (or two). I am feeling really good, considering I'm carrying around another person in my belly. I get tired very easily and am exhausted by the end of the day but that's about all. I have some swelling in my hands as of this week so I can't wear my rings anymore but that comes and goes throughout the day so it's not too bad. I'm fortunate enough to have made it this far with no swelling so I'll count my blessings! I mainly just swell if I get hot, which seems to be more frequent, so I keep the windows open and fans running at all times. I can't imagine being pregnant in the middle of the summer!! Our bags are all packed and the nursery is ready so now we just wait. I plan to start walking every day this week in hopes of helping Walker out just a little. I walked pretty frequently throughout my pregnancy but the further along I got, the less I walked for fear that it would send me into pre-term labor. But now that we've made it this far I'm hoping walking will speed things up just a little. Again, we'll see...

All in all things are going well. I still feel Walker moving around more and more but now they are more like squirms then the big gymnastic moves he was doing. And when he kicks me they sometimes hurt. It definitely feels like he's running out of room in there! But all those kicks and squirms are so reassuring! Please continue to keep us in your prayers in the next few weeks. Hopefully we'll have a baby before too much longer...

36 and 37 Weeks

The belly at 37 weeks...he's slowly running out of room!!

Daddy is practicing his diapering skills on our new pack-n-play from Aunt Mellie & Uncle Bryan! And the football pillow is a gift from Sugar (Janna's mom)!

I am slacking on updating the blog. I honestly forgot to take and/or post a 36 week belly picture. Don't worry though...it just got bigger and lower! :) We are 37 weeks today, which means that Walker is now considered full term. This makes mommy and daddy feel much better. However, I went to the doctor the other day and I am not dilated at all! SO, the doctor acted like it could be another few weeks. BUT, there is a full moon on March 30th so maybe he'll decide to come that day. So far I am still feeling great, just feeling really big and waddling more and more every day. But, thankfully, I am perfectly fine for him to hold out for a few more weeks. (I may read this post in a few more weeks and completely disagree though!). But for now I'll settle for feeling great and just waiting for Walker to decide to make his appearance. It is very weird to go to bed each night and wonder if I'll wake up in the middle of the night in labor. Or even better, when I go to school I just pray that my water doesn't break at school!! :) Wouldn't that be fun! However or whenever he decides to come we are just praying for a healthy and safe delivery. We can't wait to meet him!!!

It's so weird to think that there will be 3 of us soon! We spend this past weekend going out to eat, shopping and just hanging out and enjoying our time with just the two of us. As excited as I am to meet Walker, I'm really glad that we've had time to enjoy just being a couple before starting a family. I think it's made our marriage much stronger and we're more prepared for parenthood because of it (if you can ever be really "prepared!). It's so crazy to think that in a months time we'll be a little family! :) We are so excited and can't wait to hold our precious little boy! We love him so much already!

We go to meet our pediatrician tomorrow and we have another doctor's appointment on Wednesday so we have another full week ahead! Please continue to pray for us!

35 weeks

Since we are officially 36 weeks TODAY, I figured I had better add a 35 week post. There are no pictures for 35 weeks because 1.) I forgot! and 2.) we had maternity pictures taken this weekend so that will be our documentation of the belly at 35 weeks! I'll post the link to the pictures soon. We had a very busy week last week and this week is looking to be just as busy. This weekend my mom came up and we spent the whole day organizing Walker's room and getting everything washed and put away. We also packed our hospital bag(s), so we are now ready to go! Jon is taking care of getting the car seat installed this week and I am registering for the epidural this week and other than that we are about ready for Walker. We are so excited that the time is getting so close and just can't wait for him to be here!! At our appointment last week they did an ultrasound to check his position. He is now head down so that means that we can just wait to go into labor instead of scheduling a c-section. We are very thankful that he turned and are hoping he stays that way. We weren't really opposed to a c-section but are just thankful that, at this point, we can still try for a vaginal delivery. Everything else with the ultrasound looked good. We couldn't really see a whole lot since he's pretty squished in there now, but we did see his arms and legs, hands and his boys parts (so he is still a boy!). It was amazing to see how much bigger he had gotten since our last ultrasound...he's quickly running out of room in there. He weighs about 5 lbs 5 oz. as of last Wednesday so he is getting bigger by the week. In just another week he'll be considered full term so the closer we get to that point the better Jon and I feel about him coming. Of course, technically, we still have 4 weeks left and he may very well wait until his due date (or after) to arrive so we shall see. I only have 3 weeks left of school so I am quickly winding things down on that front so I feel much less stressed now! All in all things are going great! I feel great and he keeps moving around all the time so we are very thankful for that! It's so weird for us to think about having a baby soon but we are so excited to finally meet him! Please keep praying for our family!

34 Weeks

Mommy going through all the wonderful presents from our showers.
Mommy & Daddy at the first shower of the day!

We are now 34 weeks, 6 days. Only 5 more weeks until our due date. I can't believe how close it's getting. It is so neat to think that he'll be here soon!! He's getting bigger and stronger that's for sure. I can feel him move around all the time now and those pokes and kicks get harder each day. I can see him moving around a lot more too. I still can't tell what position he's in. We go back to the doctor on Tuesday for another ultra sound to see what position he's in. We can't wait to get another look at him and see how much he's grown.
We had a very exciting weekend...we had two baby showers this weekend in Murray. One was given by my sisters-in-law and the other was given by my aunts. We had such a wonderful time and it was so sweet of all of them to have the showers for us. We got some great things that will come in so handy once Walker gets here. Daddy has been busy putting all of our big stuff together this afternoon. Our living room definitely looks different now with baby gear set up everywhere! It makes it seem more real that he's coming soon! :) We just can't wait for him to be here!! Please keep praying for us and I'll post an update after our appointment on Tuesday.
