Exciting News...

We are moving! Ever since Walker was born we have wished that we were closer to family. Even though we're only an hour away, it's hard for people to get up here to visit us and hard for us to go visit in Murray as often as we'd like. SO, we made the decision to see about getting jobs in Murray. It all happened so fast. We originally thought we'd stay in Paducah one more year but I noticed a job opening at Calloway at Southwest Elementary about a month ago. So I applied, interviewed and got the job all in a week's time. Talk about overwhelming!! And just last week, Jon accepted a job at Murray Middle School teaching 8th grade Science. So, we are moving to Murray. Our house is on the market and we're praying it sells quickly. In the meantime, we are staying with my parents at their house. We are so excited to be moving back to Murray. We've loved living in Paducah the past two years but now that Walker is here I think Murray is the place for us! Oh and I go back to work in two weeks for the first time in 4 months so please pray that I make it ok leaving Walker. It will help that my mom is keeping him until he can start Mother's Day Out. Please pray for us as we both start new jobs and try to sell our house!!

Hilton Head

Happy baby after a bath!

Hanging out with mommy after lunch.

Walker's cabana...he slept in this thing all week! For anyone looking for beach/pool items for kids go to http://www.onestepahead.com/. I love this website!!

His first time to put his feet in the ocean.

Ready to hit the beach.

Walker & Sugar ready to go out to eat.

He loves to stick his tongue out these days.

His sweet little feet in the ocean.

Mommy, Sugar (Janna's mom) and Walker headed to Hilton Head for a week of relaxation. It was Walker's first vacation and he did GREAT! It was about a 10 hour drive and he cried for about 10 minutes the whole trip. It did takes us a little longer to get there because we stopped to let Walker eat and stretch quite a bit but he was a trooper! We had a great time hanging out on the beach, shopping and eating.

3 Months Old!!

This was Walker one morning before we got him up. He had just been smiling about 5 seconds before. Then we got the camera out and this is the look he gave us. Walker is very good at his "pouty" face! We think it's pretty cute now...

My sweet baby is 3 months old!

Posted by PicasaNotice the two bandaids on his legs...he had just gotten two shots earlier that morning. It was so sad! :( This round of shots was definitely worse than the last round.
Walker didn't have to have a complete check-up this week but we did go for his 3 month shots. We had the nurse weigh him while we were there and he now weighs 11 lbs 5 oz. He's almost doubled his birth weight!
It seems that in the past month he has changed so much. He has developed quite a personality and is defintely learning how to work the "system" known as mom and dad. He's getting quite good at happy and sad faces and will go from one to the other in a matter of seconds. In the past month Walker has started sleeping through the night!! WOOHOO! Mom and dad are very excited about this accomplishment...he goes to bed about 7:00, we feed him at 9:00 then he usually sleeps until 5:30-6:00. It's amazing how much better I (mommy) feel these days. When he was first born everyone said "just make it to three months and it will get so much easier"...and that is SO true! It seems like now that he's hit the 3 month mark life is slowly taking on a routine and we're all adjusting to our new family life. I'll admit...the first couple (6-7) weeks are pretty rough. But we now feel like we're all getting used to each other.
Walker's likes include: baths, smiling ,standing, his bouncy seat, his mobile, "talking", looking around at everything, riding in the car, & listening to music. His dislikes include: naps, loud noises, tummy time & shots!! He's a pretty easy-going little boy. I feel like he's changing more and more every day. He's noticing everything around him which makes it more challening getting him to eat because he wants to look around. He's now able to really focus on objects near and far away and will turn in response to a voice...especially mommy and daddy's. He will smile at certain toys and will bat at them with his hand. He LOVES to stand on his feet and can stand up very well just holding on to mommy's hands. He gets so excited and will bend his knees and bounce around while doing this. We're amazed at how strong his legs seem. He can lift his head up and look around while on his belly but he still hates tummy time. Tummy time is mainly spent laying on daddy because he makes it so much more fun. Walker is also trying to lift himself up off his belly using his hands and he can now hold on to a rattle and wave it around. I say he can do all these things but he's pretty picky about when he chooses to show off his skills. If he's not in the mood to do something, he's not doing it! He's quite stubborn that way! :) But considering his mommy & daddy that's really not a big surprise! He's becoming such a little boy and we can't wait to see what he learns next. I'm so thankful God chose me to be his mommy...I love him so much and can't imagine life without him!

Happy 4th of July!

This was Walker throughout the entire parade...even when the loud sirens were passing by.

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Murray. We enjoyed Belew's, Squealin' on the Square, the parade, and two cookouts. It was a wonderful weekend!!

Walker loves to take a bath these days. He has figured out that he can stick his arm and/or leg down in the water and move it around and water goes everywhere. He finds it to be a lot of fun (and so does mommy!). He's also getting to the point where baths are not as awkward so mommy is thankful. He will even "stand" while mommy washes his back.

Happy Father's Day!!!

"I'll tolerate tummy time on daddy because he makes it fun!!"
